Raul Deodato Arellano

Raul Deodato Arellano is a resident of East Hemet, California.  Raul is an artist, a sculptor, singer/songwriter, who also happens to be a stage/movie/television actor.   Music has been part of his life being a son to a pianist, who has designated him to ensure the family stereo played classical albums all day.  His career as an artist didn’t come immediately  after completing high school.   In 1987, he became a scholar of Actors Workshop Foundation in the Philippines.  In 1995, he took Film Making at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2002, he majored in Painting and Art History at El Camino College, Torrance, California. He has appeared in  films, most notable of which is a lead role in a Raymond Red Film, Himpapawid (Manila Skies)  internationally released in 2009.  He was awarded Best Performance by the Youth Critics Circle, Inc.  Then he returned to feed his passion for painting, creating works in oil as well as sculpture. He landed into songwriting when he injured his hand while working on a wooden sculpture.  An artist’s motivation to create is always that of expression. Unable to express in painting or sculpting, he turned to creating music.   His songs are available on Sound Cloud.  It is this newfound excitement and passion for music that inspired his works for his first exhibit at the La Habra Art Gallery thus the title “HEARTBEAT”.
