Fe Panaligan Koons

Fe is a poFeKoonset, freelance sportswriter and movie critic. As a young student, her teachers recognized her writing abilities and entered her writings in competitions which consistently won best in composition. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree and completed her Master’s in Mass Communications at the University of the Philippines.  In later years, she took Film at El Camino College.  For twenty years, she taught early childhood education.  Although, it was her pursuit of covering events that enabled her to know and be friends with prominent personalities in television, politics, stage, and movie industry.

Fe is the secretary general of the Confederation of Filipino American Associations (CONFAA) based in Carson. She is also one of the founders of A3FIRM, a transnational feminist organization and the Philippine Action Group for the Environment (PAGE). She has published in two anthology books on Filipino and Asian folktales for children and has written the children’s play, “The Rainbow Princess and the Last Days of Jose Rizal and Vera Cruz.

On March 19, 2016, she will be joined by fellow journalist, Joy Marivic Santiago in “WOMAN” – in a photo and art exhibit at the La Habra Art Gallery.  The show will run from March 19 -27, 2016.
