Classes

If you love mixed media collage and art journaling, this class is for you.  Maud Aretz, the lead artist gives a weekly prompt as inspiration for the project of the week.  Students then create collages inspired by the prompt using scraps, ephemera, and other found objects.  A fun and very therapeutic activity to start the week.  We have tons of ephemera to share.   Materials provided but participants are encouraged to bring own set of tools i.e. glue, scissors.  

Professional artist, Veronica Kortz, a professional art instructor for more than 30 years leads this class.  Bring your project (any medium) and Veronica will guide you and assist you to complete or improve your painting.  Veronica is a prolific in oil, acrylic, and egg tempra.  Bring your own supplies and projects to work on.

Learn to paint a medium of your choice and fellowship with other artists who are passionate about improving their craft.  There will be two critique sessions to learn what is good about your painting and what can be improved on.  Participants share their thoughts and learn from each other.  Wendy Macdonald is the lead artists and "keeper of keys".  Bring supplies and your lunch as class is from 10am to 2pm.  This class has been on for more than 15 years but you can join anytime and at any level.

Develop and master figure drawing with an undraped professional model, every Wednesday night, 7 to 10 pm. $12 for La Habra Art Association (LHAA) members and $15 for non-members. Class fee includes Model fee of $10.  LHAA membership is $25 a year.  The class is instructed but Lee Smith, the lead artist will be available for guidance and answer questions.  Join anytime and whatever you level you are in. Drawing boards are available.  Bring own materials except for oil paint or noxious solvents. We generally do 5 minutes to 20-minute poses, sometimes shorter or longer.

Alan Liang is the master of amazing loose watercolor paintings!  Learn from the master!  He usually demos in each class and participants learn from watching his techniques and his tips on how to create amazing loose water color paintings.  Bring your own materials but we do have materials available if you forget.  Join anytime and whatever you level you are in.
